COLUMBUS – A 13-year-old girl was among three people injured in separate shootings over two days in Columbus.
Nevaeh Hollingsworth told police she was walking with three other teens in the area of Schenley Drive and Jermain Drive at approximately 12:50 p.m. Sunday when a black 4-door sedan pulled up to them and started shooting, said Det. Deryl Kowalski of the Felony Assault Unit.
Hollingsworth was struck in her right forearm and taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital where she was listed in stable condition.
The three other people who were with Hollingsworth were not injured.
Arlisa Fowler, 32, told police that she was walking down an alley in the 700 block of Waverly Street on the East Side at approximately 8:28 p.m. Monday with a friend when she was shot in the left leg by someone in a white Camaro, Det. David Younker said.
Officers were dispatched to the Westerville Medical Campus, 260 Polaris Parkway, on a reported shooting at approximately 10:27 p.m., where personnel advised police radio that Yunis Ali, 27, had driven himself to their location after being shot at a carry out located at 4197 Cleveland Avenue, Sgt. David Shimberg said.
Ali told police had had gotten into his car and was backing out of a parking space when an unknown man approached him and fired multiple times into the passenger side of his car.
Ali was released after observation and is expected to make a full recovery, Shimberg said.
