COLUMBUS – A man arrested for shoplifting in southwest Ohio confessed to a Columbus murder, police said.
Shortly after 10:00 a.m. on Oct. 7, police officers and paramedics found the body of Terry Wilt, 63, inside a mobile home in the 1200 block of Fairwood Avenue, in the Driving Park neighborhood, while responding to a report of a stabbing received from the Hillsboro Police Department, Homicide Unit Sgt. Dave Sicilian said.
Sicilian says Nicholas Loulakis was apparently taken into custody by the Hillsboro police for shoplifting and confessed to stabbing Wilt, Sicilian said.
Homicide detectives traveled to Hillsboro, interviewed Loulakis, 27, and charged him with murder.
This was the 73rd homicide in Columbus in 2016.
