COLUMBUS, Ohio – Police are looking for a man known only as “Ray” who is suspected of firing several shots into a South Side home overnight, one of which killed a man who had been arguing with the suspect a few minutes earlier.
Investigators say the suspect fired several rounds into a home at 548 Mithoff Street just before 2:30 a.m., hitting Carlton Green, 26, who died about a half hour later at the hospital.
Detectives say Green and the man called “Ray” were arguing in the roadway on nearby Ann Street when Green walked away and into his house. The suspect, described only as a black male, fired “a volley of rounds into the house” striking Green but reportedly missing children who were inside, police said.
Green was pronounced dead at 3:02 a.m., the 27th homicide victim of 2014 in the city, detectives said.
