Shuttle service coming to Hocking Hills

COLUMBUS – Just because you want to hike, that doesn’t mean you want to traipse all over.

A new shuttle service being launched just in time for the summer travel season will take visitors from downtown Logan to the most popular hiking area in the Hocking Hills and between the attractions, like Old Man’s Cave and Cedar Falls, every weekend.

The Hocking Hills Shuttle Service launches May 26 and will run every Saturday and Sunday (10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.) until October 28. The service will also be available on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, Hocking Hills Tourism Association executive director Karen Raymore said.

Two shuttles will depart from Homegrown on Main artisan coop in downtown Logan approximately every 30 minutes, and will drop visitors off at the Old Man’s Cave campground office. Free parking is available in the Hocking County Courthouse in downtown Logan. The shuttle is $10 per person and includes a wristband good for unlimited rides that day

Two additional buses will loop between four popular hiking hotspots, including Old Man’s Cave, Whispering Cave, Cedar Falls and Ash Cave, which allows visitors easy access to the trails without have to walk to them or drive and have to find parking spaces, which can be scarce on busy weekends.

Visitors can leave their car parked at any of the four trails, take the shuttle from trail to trail and return back to pick up their car throughout the day.

They can also hike from one trail to another, then hop on the shuttle back to their car.
