COLUMBUS – A wintry mix could make the Monday morning commute difficult in central Ohio.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Columbus and the surrounding counties from 5:00 p.m. Sunday until 7:00 a.m. Monday for a mix of snow and rain.
Precipitation will start mainly as snow with much of the snow accumulation occurring by midnight, forecasters said.
Snow will mix with or change to freezing rain, and possibly plain
rain near the Ohio River, as precipitation tapers off.
Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are possible, along with a light glaze of ice.
The area affected by the advisory includes Franklin, Delaware, Fairfield, Licking, Madison, Pickaway and Union counties.
