COLUMBUS – Central Ohioans made their way to work and school Monday morning after digging out from the first significant snowfall of the season.
Record snowfalls for the dates were set in in Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati, the weather service reported

Snow emergencies were declared in Delaware, Pickaway and Union counties over the weekend.
Fairfield County remained under a Level 1 snow emergency, according to the office of Sheriff Dave Phelan. The National Weather Service reported 6 to 6 ½ inches of snow fell in the county Saturday and Sunday.
Two-day snowfalls ranged from 2 ½ inches in Union County to 5 1/2 in northern Franklin County to 6 ½ inches in Fairfield and in Licking counties.
At least six people were were killed in crashes on slick roadways in Kansas, Missouri and Virginia since Friday due to storm conditions that blanketed the nation from the Midwest to the Mid-Atlantic, bringing snow, freezing rain and power outages.
