COLUMBUS – Police say a Southeast Side man shot his girlfriend to death before taking his own life Friday night.

Officers responding to a reported shooting at a townhome on Raft Lane at approximately 10:34 p.m. found a Loren Williamson and Veronica Lee in an upstairs bedroom, both unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds, Sgt. Jeffrey Strayer of the Homicide Unit said.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene by Columbus paramedics, he said.
Investigators say Williamson and Lee, both 19, had been involved in a relationship for some time and scene evidence indicates Williamson, who lived at the townhome, shot Lee before shooting himself.
The investigation continues, Strayer said.
This is the 21st homicide in Columbus in 2019.
