COLUMBUS – Homes for sale in the Columbus market in March were snapped up by eager buyers, driving prices still higher and keeping the supply tight.

“It’s encouraging to see inventory starting to increase in central Ohio. Sellers are realizing how hot the market is and are enjoying that advantage,” 2018 Columbus Realtors president Sara Walsh said. “Hopefully more sellers will follow suit, as we still have more buyers looking for homes than homes available to sell.”

The 3,485 homes and condos for sale in central Ohio in March was slightly higher than in February but down 17.3 percent from March 2017, according to a monthly report released by Columbus Realtors Monday.

Sales jumped 41.6 percent from February but were 8.6 percent below the same month a year ago.

The median sales price was $185,000, up 9.5 percent from a year ago, and sold in 39 days, on average, five days quicker than in February and six days faster than a year ago.
