Stars 4, CBJ 2

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Tyler Seguin scored three goals, including the tiebreaker with 7:44 left in the third, lifting the Dallas Stars a 4-2 victory over the Blue Jackets on Tuesday night for their first win of the season.

The win also spoiled the Blue Jackets’ bid to get to 3-0 for the first time in the franchise’s 14 seasons.

Ryan Johansen, who scored both goals for the CBJ, scored in the second period to turn a 2-0 deficit into a 2-2 tie.

Seguin redirected Jamie Benn’s shot to give the Stars the lead then added an empty-netter.

Benn scored and had three assists for the Stars, who matched their goal total while starting 0-1-1. Kari Lehtonen had 33 saves, including several in the closing minutes.

Jack Johnson added two assists and Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 31 shots.

The Blue Jackets return to action on Friday (7:00 p.m.) as they host the Calgary Flames at Nationwide Arena.
