COLUMBUS – The Omaha Storm Chasers kept up the pursuit and finally beat the Clippers. 11-7, in 11 innings in the opening game of a series at Huntington Park Tuesday night.
After the Clippers rallied to build a 5-3 lead in the fourth inning on Gavin Collins’ solo home run, the Storm Chasers came back to tie it up in the eighth.
Omaha built a six-run lead in the top of the 11th inning on a two-run single by Sebastian Rivero and a three-run homer by Bobby Witt.
Another run scored on a wild pitch by Juan Mota (0-1).
Oscar Gonzalex hit a two-run home run for Columbus off winning pitcher Dylan Coleman (2-0) in the bottom of the inning.
