Storm Chasers 13, Clippers 10

COLUMBUS – Omaha and Columbus combined for 28 hits as the Storm Chasers held off the Clippers for a 13-10 victory in a Saturday night slugfest at Huntington Park.

Kyle Isbel stole home and Bobby Witt hit a grand slam in the second inning to give Omaha a 5-3 lead and Brandon Barker (1-1) and five relievers kept the Clippers under control, despite giving up 14 hits.

Yu-Yen Chang’s two-run home run for Columbus in the seventh cut the Storm Chasers’ lead to 9-7 but Omaha kept the game out of reach.

Joel Payamps gave up three runs in the ninth but Tyler Zuber came on and retired the only hitter he faced to get his fourth save of the season.

Starter Scott Moss (1-5) lasted less than two innings and took the loss.
