COLUMBUS – Three injuries were reported after a severe thunderstorm rolled through Delaware County Saturday morning, uprooting trees flipping vehicles and knocking our power to hundreds.

Two people taken to the hospital were among those injured at the Delaware State Park Campground, according to a Facebook post by the Delaware County Emergency Management Agency. One of those transported was in a trailer when it flipped and the other was in a tent when a large limb or tree fell down on it as the storm moved through between the hours of 7:00 and 10:00 a.m., the agency reported.
Particularly hard were Blue Limestone Park and surrounding areas in the City of Delaware and Delaware State Park in Troy Township, the agency reported.
Multiple large trees were uprooted or snapped within the affected area and aproximately 900 American Electric Power customers were reported to be without power.
More than 2,700 customers in Dublin and Westerville were among those still without power Sunday morning, according to the utility’s website.
No injuries were reported when a tractor-trailer rug flipped on U.S. 23 approximately two miles south of state Route 229.
Part of the tin roof on a garage near the intersection of Horseshoe and Bishop roads in Marlboro Township was torn off at approximately 6:44 a.m.. The resident was not displaced as there was hardly any impact to his house, the agency reportd.
Pictures from the Hilliard area show trash cans overturned and tree branches blocking roadways, according to a report by WBNS 10-TV.
A Tornado Warning was issued for the southern portion of Knox County around 7:30 a.m. No serious damage or injuries were reported, the television station reported.
