Stripers 6, Clippers 0

COLUMBUS – The Clippers never put any sort of offense together in their 6-0 loss to the Gwinnett Stripers in the finale of a three-game series Thursday.

Luke Jackson (2-1) and three other Gwinnett pitchers held the Clippers to just two hits while striking out a combined 17 batters.

Clippers starter Stephen Fife (2-4) eventually gave up five runs in his 6 2/3 innings while striking out seven. After giving up two runs in the 1st inning, Fife settled down but allowed two men on base in the 7th when Jeff Beliveau came on in relief and gave up a three-run home run to Carlos Franco.

The Clippers will host the Charlotte Knights Friday at Huntington park for the first of a three-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
