COLUMBUS, Ohio – Police are looking for two men they say threatened an employee during a holdup at a Northeast Side discount store Thursday night.
The men – one black and one white and both ranging in age from 17 to 20 years old — walked into the Family Dollar store at 2372 Cleveland Avenue at approximately 8:20 p.m., robbery unit detectives said.
While one of them guarded the front door, the other ordered the three store employees to the ground at gunpoint. The man at the front counter put cash from two of the store’s registers and packs of cigarettes into a bag.
Police say, at one point, he held a gun to one of the store’s female employees and told the store manager that if the manager moved, he would blow the employee’s head off.
After bagging up cash and cigarettes, the men drove away, possibly in a Buick.
Anyone with any information about the suspects is asked to call the Columbus Police Robbery Unit at 614-645-4665 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-645-4881.
