Deandre Davon Fleming was charged with inducing panic, a second-degree felony, for claiming that there would be an attack at the school Monday.

At approximately 1:15 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, a threat was discovered on social media indicating that there would be an attack at the school on Monday morning, said Sgt. Fay Gordon of the Columbus police Counter Terrorism Unit. A large number of calls were received concerning this threat.

The investigation by the Counter Terrorism Unit, High School Resource Unit and Ohio Bureau of Investigations Cyber Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Statewide Terrorism Analysis and Crime Center, Ohio Homeland Security Threat Assessment and Prevention Unit, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Intelligence Unit resulted in a search warrant for a townhome on Bayfield Drive, which Gordon says was executed by the Counter Terrorism Unit and state Bureau of Criminal Investigation, with help from the Columbus Division of Police SWAT Team, on Sunday, resulting in the seizure of evidence and Fleming’s arrest.

The investigation continues, Gordon said.
