COLUMBUS – Police have charged an East Side man with the death of a man gunned down in a convenience store parking lot last month.
Mershaun Marquis Johnson was charged with murder and illegally possessing a weapon in the death of Charles Eugene Staten on April 10, homicide unit Sgt. Jeff Strayer said.
Strayer says Johnson, 27, was already in jail on other charges when he was charged with the death of Staten, 38, shot down in the parking lot of Brothers Food Mart, 1776 Parsons Avenue. Staten died later at Grant Medical Center.
