COLUMBUS – Police have caught up with a man they say tried to rob at least three Columbus banks in two days, claiming to have a gun and threatening a teller during one of the holdups.

Anthony Collier was arrested shortly after 5:30 p.m. Thursday on a charge of aggravated robbery and taken to the Franklin County Jail, Columbus police Robbery Unit Det. Brad Thomas said.
The arrest came hours after Collier, 63, allegedly tried to hold up a Chase bank branch on the North Side.
Collier allegedly walked into the bank in the 1500 block of Morse Road at approximately 1:35 p.m. Thursday and handed the teller a note demanding money (above right). Thomas says the teller gave Collier an undisclosed amount of money and he fled in a tan four-door Nissan.
The holdup came a day after police say Collier hit two banks on the South Side.
He allegedly walked up to the counter at another Chase bank (above left), in the 800 block of S. High Street at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday and passed a threatening note demanding money, implying that he a weapon in his waistband, Thomas said.
The suspect became impatient, told the teller to hurry up and finally fled the bank without getting any money.
At approximately 1:12 p.m., the same suspect passed a threatening note demanding money to a teller at a PNC Bank branch in the 2000 block of Lockbourne Road (center), demanded the clerk to hurry up and threatened to shoot up the bank, Thomas said.
The teller gave Collier an undetermined amount of cash and he drove away in a light-colored Nissan four-door, Thomas said.
