COLUMBUS – Columbus police say a man wanted in a violent attack that left one person dead dared police to “shoot and kill” him as he ran away from officers trying to arrest him.

Joseph Kibby, wanted for murder the shooting death of a man during a violent home-invasion style robbery in a home on the West Side in June, was spotted on Thursday by officers and jumped out of a moving vehicle as they approached him, according to detectives with the Homicide Unit.
He ran from the officers and shouted at them to “shoot and kill him” before he was taken into custody following a struggle, police said.
Kibby, 29, had been charged with murder on Sept. 13 in connection with a home invasion on N. Warren Avenue on June 30, where Lee Bussey, 30, was shot to death, Timothy Montgomery was wounded and Stevie Montgomery was severely beaten.
