COLUMBUS – Columbus police say one person is dead after being shot by an officer on bicycle patrol on the Southeast Side Wednesday night.

Officers were investigating a parking complaint in the area of Gallant Drive and Kings Realm Avenue at approximately 8:51 p.m. when they radioed that shots had been fired from the location, division public information officer Sgt. James Fuqua said.
Sgt. Lee Hurst, a 13-year veteran of the Division of Police opened fire, Fuqua said.
Tasjon Osbourne, 18, was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased, Fuqua said.
The investigation is ongoing.
