COLUMBUS – An 18-year-old man Columbus police say shot his girlfriend and her father during an argument in December has been arrested in Springfield.
Jordyn Preston (right) was charged with murder in the shooting death of Van Johnson, 54, the father of Preston’s 18-year-old girlfriend, Elyzabeth Johnson, outside a home in the 2400 block of Ottawa Drive on the Northeast Side on Dec. 10, Homicide Unit Sgt. Dave Sicilian said.
Sicilian says the three were involved in a n argument when Preston opened fire, hitting both father and daughter before driving away.
Van Johnson died later at Riverside Methodist Hospital while Elyzabeth Johnson was taken to Grant Medical Center where Sicilian says she was expected to survive.
