Suspect in East Side hit-skip arrested

COLUMBUS – Columbus police have arrested a 41-year-old woman on a murder charge after she allegedly hit a bicyclist on an East Side street and fled the scene.

William Greulich, 69, was hit by a Buick Enclave SUV while he was riding his bicycle northbound on Burlington Avenue, as he crossed Livingston Avenue, just after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, said Sgt. Brooke Wilson of the Columbus police Accident Investigation Unit.

Greulich was pronounced dead at the scene and witness accounts led officers to find the suspect vehicle and Kellie Renee Knight, who was arrested a short time later.

This was the 39th traffic fatality in Columbus this year, Wilson said.
