COLUMBUS – After a few hours on the run, a murder suspect was arrested about four miles away from the East Side apartment where he left his alleged victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Tyrell Williams was arrested without incident at a home on N. Waverly Street in connection with the death of Jermaine Wooden early Wednesday morning, homicide unit Sgt. Dave Sicilian said.
Wooden was found inside an apartment in the Nelson Park Apartments on Maryland Avenue at 6:23 a.m. by officers responding to a reported shooting, Sicilian said.
Wooden, 33, died about two hours later at OSU Medical Center East.
Sicilian says that investigators concluded that Wooden and Williams were inside of the apartment when, for unknown reasons, Williams, 27, pulled a firearm and shot Wooden and fled from the scene.
He was considered armed and dangerous but was arrested a few hours later on a murder charge, Sicilian.
This is the 18th homicide in Columbus in 2017.
