Suspect sought in cabin shooting

LOGAN, Ohio – Authorities are searching for a white van and its owner in connection with a double shooting at a cabin this weekend in the Hocking Hills Saturday night.

A man was killed and a woman was wounded in the shooting just before 9:00 p.m. cabin at the Wildwoods Backwood Retreats on state Route 678, according to a post on the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

The sheriff’s office believes the alleged shooter fled in a white 2007 Chrysler Town and Country van (OH lic.# DRA-8569). They say the owner of the van is a Franklin County resident.

Officers say the 31-year-old woman injured in the shooting escaped to a nearby residence to seek help.

Authorities arrived at the cabin to find one man dead, and they could not immediately locate the shooter.

According to broadcast reports, the woman was flown to a Columbus hospital, where she remained Sunday night.
