Suspect sought in South Side shooting

COLUMBUS – Police say a the suspect in a deadly shooting on the South Side early Tuesday should be considered “armed and dangerous.”

UPDATE (2/13/18 6:38 a.m.) Caleb Michael Kazlausky, was arrested Feb. 12 and is in custody.

Caleb Michael Kazlausky has been charged with murder in the shooting death Chad Edward Dunlap, 29, inside a home in the 500 block of Welch Avenue at approximately 1:08 a.m., said Sgt. Jeff Strayer of the Homicide Unit.

Strayer says detectives believe Dunlap and Kazlausky were involved in some form of disagreement or altercation when Kazlausky, 20, produced a weapon and shot Dunlap, then fled the scene.

Dunlap was transported to Grant Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 1:43 a.m., Strayer said.

The investigation continues.

This is the 15th homicide of the year in Columbus.
