Suspects sought in killing of pregnant woman, baby’s dad

COLUMBUS – Police are looking for two men they say are responsible for killing a pregnant woman and the father of her baby, which was successfully delivered, on New Year’s Day.

Christian Daequan Dillion, 19 (above left), and Mario Marshawn Wade, 18 (right), were both charged with murder Tuesday in connection with shooting Marlazia Jones-Mattox and Keith Brian Williams III to death and injuring an unidentified 15-year-old boy inside a home at 670 S. Hague Avenue at approximately 11:43 p.m. on Jan. 1, said Sgt. Jeff Strayer of the Homicide Unit.

The two men are still at large and considered armed and dangerous, Strayer said.

Officers called to the Hague Avenue address on the report of a shooting found the three victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Williams, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene but Jones-Mattox, 21, was transported to Mt. Carmel West Hospital in critical condition where she died at 12:15 a.m.

Jones-Mattox was approximately 35 weeks pregnant and doctors were able to deliver her baby boy, who survived.

The teen sustained severe injuries, Strayer said.

Anyone with information regarding the incident or the whereabouts of the suspects is asked to call the Columbus Police Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS.
