COLUMBUS – Columbus police are looking for two men they say gunned down a 14-year-old boy last month on the Northeast Side last month.
Aboubacar Toure, 19, and Sabab Islam, 18, are both charged with murder for allegedly shooting 14-year-old Dayvion Jones to death as the teen was walking in 5300 block of Hazelwood Road on January 24, said Sgt. James Marable of the Homicide Unit.
Marable says a group of men in a stolen SUV confronted Jones and one of the men pulled a handgun and shot Jones, who died later at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
The men fled in the stolen vehicle, which they wrecked in a single vehicle crash near the intersection of Tamarack Boulevard and Forest Village Lane and ran away, Marable said.
