COLUMBUS – A design submitted by a senior from Teays Valley High School in Ashville is among three finalists for a new sticker Ohio voters receive when they cast ballots in person or by mail.

Emily Legg’s entry was chosen from more than 2,000 received by the office of Secretary of State Frank LaRose, who announced the contest in March.
The competition to design the sticker to be used for at least the next four years was open to students in grades 6-12 and the winner will be chosen by a vote open to all Ohioans.
When he announced the contest, LaRose said he intended for it to encourage young people to learn more about the democratic process and the impact of voting.
The other finalists were submitted by students from Milford High School in suburban Cincinnati and the Hawken School in Cuyahoga County.
His office got help promoting the competition from the Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio Education Association, Ohio Arts Council and other education and arts organizations.
