COLUMBUS, Ohio – A Columbus teenager is behind bars, along with a 20-year-old man, in connection with a double-shooting at an East Side gas station just before Christmas that left one man dead and another injured.
Michael Watson, 20, and Michael Henderson, 15, were arrested Thursday on murder charges just a few blocks from where Marvin Ector was shot to death on Dec. 23, Columbus Police Homicide Unit detectives said.
Police say Ector, 26, and Darnelle Gammon were shot at approximately 6:00 p.m. while sitting in a car at the Sunoco gas station at 849 E. 5th Avenue. Ector was pronounced dead at scene while Gammon, 31, survived his wounds.
Arrest warrants were issued for Watson and Henderson on Jan. 3 and they were taken into custody without incident Thursday at a home at 1091 Walters Street, less than three blocks away from the scene of the crime, detectives said.
Watson was taken to the Franklin County jail while the Henderson was awaiting arraignment in the Court of Domestic Relations, police said.
