COLUMBUS – A teenager charged with the murder of a man he met on the pretense of an online exchange was in jail on another charge and is a suspect in other crimes, according to Columbus police.

Kyvion Rodney Allen Jacobs, 17, was charged Tuesday with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery in connection with the death of Kyle Haseley, who died six days after he was shot when he went to meet someone who had arranged to sell a video game system via an online exchange site, Homicide Unit investigators said.
Haseley was shot in the area of 21st Avenue and Ontario Street on March 6 and died on March 12, the 20th homicide of the year in Columbus.
Witnesses told police Jacobs took money and Haseley’s phone from the victim after shooting, police said.
Police said Jacobs was in jail for another offense when the charges were filed and was also a suspect in other crimes.
