COLUMBUS – A teen drowning victim whose body was recovered has been identified as a 17-year-old Columbus boy.
Caleb Faught’s body was recovered by the Columbus police dive team in the Scioto River at 10:02 Friday morning about 100 feet from where he and some friends went swimming near the Greenlawn Avenue bridge Thursday afternoon.

The teen’s body was recovered in approximately five feet of water.
A spokesman for the dive team says Faught went in the water to help a friend who was struggling. The friend made it to safety.
Police say the incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of swimming in unauthorized or unsupervised waters.
