Teens, 13 and 16, shot on East Side

COLUMBUS – Two teenagers were hospitalized but expected recover from gunshot wounds suffered in two separate incidents early Monday morning on the East Side.

A 13-year-old girl was taken to Children’s Hospital in serious but stable condition after police say she was shot while walking southbound on Courtright Road near Liv Moore Drive at 1:24 a.m.

A 16-year-old boy told police he was riding in the passenger seat of a vehicle in the area of Lilley Avenue and Mound Street at 2:37 a.m. when he was shot in the right forearm when a man dressed in black opened fire on the vehicle.

The boy was driven to Nationwide Children’s Hospital by the driver of the vehicle he was on and is expected to recover from his injury, police said.
