Teens, 14 and 16, shot on street

COLUMBUS – Police are looking for clues in a shooting on the Southeast Side Tuesday night that sent two teenagers to the hospital.

Officers responding to a reported shooting in the area of Smith Road and Ellsworth Avenue at 9:57 p.m. were flagged down and told that a male was shot in front of a home in the 1100 block of Smith Road, said Det. Randy Vanvorhis of the Assault Unit.

The officers found Lawaun Williams, 14, laying on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and 16-year-old Shaquendes Harvey suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his stomach.

Witnesses were interviewed but no suspects had been identified by early Wednesday, Vanvorhis said.

The investigation continues.
