COLUMBUS – Police say information provided by the public led them to three suspects, including two teenagers, in the shooting death of a 24-year-old man outside a Northeast Side market last month.

Homicide Unit detectives filed arrest warrants charging Ke’Anu Logan, 21; Jebrelle McClendon, 17, and 16-year-old Taywaun Gavin with aggravated murder in the death of Neal Smith, Sgt. James Marable said.
Anyone with knowledge of the suspects’ whereabouts is asked to contact police.
Smith was shot after buying some items at a market in the 2000 block of Argyle Drive on June 25. The suspects are believed to have seen him inside the store and tried to rob him at gunpoint after he left.
A woman who was nearby was also shot during the incident.
Suspects arrested in June homicide
SWAT officers on Tuesday arrested two men in connection with the shooting death on June 30 of a 46-year-old man, Marable said.
Shandale Brown, 23, and Ayub Issack, 20, have both been charged with murder in the death of William Hinson while Hinson was driving on a Linden street on June 30. Hinson was found behind the wheel of his SUV after it crashed into a utility pole in the 1000 block of E. Hudson Street.
Victim of apparent accidental shooting is city’s 66th homicide
No charges have been filed in an apparent accidental shooting that claimed the life of a 23-year-old man on the Northwest Side early Tuesday.
Mohammed Al Tameemi was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting just before 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday after officers found him in an apartment in the 5300 block of Shiloh Drive.
Marable says Al Tameemi and several other men were handling a firearm in an “unsafe manner” when someone unintentionally fired the weapon, fatally wounding Al Tameemi.
One of the men present claimed responsibility during an interview with investigators and his account was corroborated by a witness, Marable said.
The case will be forwarded to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s office for review, Marable said.
Shooting victim dies
A man who was found inside a vehicle that had crashed into a home on the East Side on June 28 died a day later, the 62nd homicide victim of 2022, Sgt. Eric Pilya of the Columbus police homicide unit said.
Joshua Jones, 23, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle that had struck a residence the area of E. 7th and Indianola Avenues.
Investigators determined that Jones was inside the vehicle when he was confronted by a man and an accomplice. Multiple gunshots were fired during the confrontation, striking Jones who tried to flee the scene, but crashed his car into the side of the home.
