COLUMBUS – The Columbus Foundation’s signature fund-raising event returns amid a global pandemic and nationwide protests over the treatment of black Americans at the hands of police.
The Big Give runs from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until 11:00 a.m. Thursday.
During that time, individuals can donate to their favorite charity and their donations will be matched from the $1.5 million bonus pool from the Columbus Foundation and local corporate and community donors.
The pool is the largest in Big Give history.
The last time the foundation mounted a Big Give event was 2017, so this is the first time funds will be available to organizations battling the coronavirus outbreak or crippled by business shutdown during the pandemic.
Donors can give directly to funds specifically for hospitality workers, individuals and families, or nonprofit organizations working on the front lines.
