Three injured in weekend shootings

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Three men were injured in separate shootings in Columbus the weekend, two of which involved groups of four assailants.

An 18-year-old Columbus man said four men he didn’t know drove up to him as he stood at an East Side intersection and shot him in the leg Saturday evening.

Homer Hill II told officers he was at the intersection of Liv-moor Road and Liv-Moor Court just after 6:30 p.m. when a dark gray or black vehicle with four black men riding inside stopped at the intersection, Assault Unit detectives said. Hill told investigators the man in the left rear seat fired one round from a handgun, hitting Hill in the leg, police said.

Hill was transported to Grant Hospital in stable condition.

A few hours later, Ashton Parks reported that he was walking to a friend’s house on the North Side when four men grabbed him and he was shot trying to get away.

At approximately 10:06 p.m., Darks, 29, was assaulted while on walking to a friend’s house at 1346 Aberdeen Avenue when the four black men grabbed him. He told police he was able to get away and ran towards his friend’s house but the suspects started shooting at him hitting him multiple times in the upper body, detectives said.

He was transported to Riverside Hospital by a friend, in serious condition.

Darks said he did not know the assailants.

Shortly after 5:00 on Sunday afternoon, Alphonso Reed, 23, walked into Grant Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the left leg, police said. He underwent surgery and was in stable condition.

A witness at the hospital told police the victim was found shot at the Moonlight Lounge, 1662 W. Mound Street.

The police had no suspect information early Monday.
