Three sought in armored car robbery

COLUMBUS – Two men and a woman carried out a daring holdup of an armored car outside an East Side bank Friday morning.

Detectives with the Columbus Police Robbery Unit say the Brink’s armored truck was making a service call at the Chase Bank branch at 2475 S. Hamilton Road at 10:38 a.m. when a dark-colored, possibly gray, Nissan Sentra or Altima pulled up to the guard and two armed men demanded money.

The men, described as possibly being of Middle Eastern descent, between 25 and 30 years of age and wearing white scarfs over their heads, fled with an undisclosed amount of money in the car, driven by a black woman in her mid-30’s, police said.
