COLUMBUS – Three people, including a one-year-old girl, were killed in separate incidents during a violent Labor Day weekend in Columbus, which also saw three men shot when a fight at a Southeast Side club erupted in gunfire.
Lavan Davis, 24, died at Grant Medical Center just before 11:00 p.m. Sunday after being shot in front of an address in the 400 block of S. Weyant Avenue, said Sgt. Jeff Strayer of the Homicide Unit.
Davis’ death brought the total number of homicide in Columbus in 2017 to 90
Robert Marshall, Jr., died after being shot just after 10:30 p.m. Saturday in front of an apartment building in the area of 1244 Stone Ridge Drive, Strayer said.
No suspects had been arrested in either case.
Three men were injured when shots were fired during a disturbance early Sunday at a Southeast Side club.
Detectives say the three were shot outside Stooge’s, 2932 Noe-Bixby Road, and a Marathon gas station at 4755 Refugee Road between 2:30 and 3:30 a.m., apparently following a disturbance t the bar.
Detectives say the three men were all acquainted with each other but no arrests had been announced as of early Tuesday.
