Thursday trick-or-treat

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Pint-sized ghosts, goblins and princesses will take to their neighborhood streets on Thursday night for the next two years, according to the agency that sets the schedule for trick-or-treating in central Ohio.

The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission, which sets a “unified” Beggars’ Night for the Columbus area, schedules trick-or-treating on Thursdays, rain or shine, when Hallowe’en — Oct. 31 — falls on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday to keep children and other pedestrians safe.

The event takes place on Oct. 31 when that date falls on a weeknight.

Here are the scheduled unified trick-or-treat nights for the next five years:

2015 – Thursday, October 29
2016 – Monday, October 31
2017 – Tuesday, October 31
2018 – Wednesday, October 31
2019 – Thursday, October 31
