COLUMBUS – The home field has been anything but an advantage for the Clippers, who have dropped all four games of their seven-game home stand so far.
Norfolk scored six runs in the fifth and six innings to pull away for an 11-6 win in the opening game of a weekend series at Huntington Park Thursday night.
Christopher Bostick contributed two home runs during that outburst, a solo shot in the fifth and a two-run homer in the sixth as the Tides rolled over reliever Matt Whitehouse (1-1), who gave up four runs on five hits in 1 1/3 innings.
Tanner Scott (2-1) got the win for Norfolk.
Game 2 of the series is Friday night.
