Tides 6, Clippers 5

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Clippers fell behind early and rallied back only to fall to the Norfolk Tides 6-5 Monday afternoon in the finale of the season series between the two teams.

Norfolk took five of the eight games against the Clippers, three of four at Huntington Park.

Christian Walker gave Norfolk the lead 6-5 with a solo homer in the top of the ninth inning.

The Clippers left nine men on base, six of them in scoring position.

Neither starting pitcher made it to the fifth inning. Robert Coello (5-1) picked up the win by pitching a perfect eighth out of the bullpen. Austin Adams (2-2) allowed Walker’s homer and took the loss.

The Clippers are off Tuesday and next play Wednesday at Huntington Park against the Louisville Bats at 7:05 p.m.
