COLUMBUS – The Clippers dropped the finale of their series with the Norfolk Tides Thursday afternoon at Huntington Park, 7-4, missing an opportunity for their first series sweep of the season.
Norfolk used a six-run eighth inning, highlighted by Andrew Susac’s three-run homer, to power themselves to victory.
Louis Head (1-1) took over for Clippers starter Adam Plutko in the seventh inning and he and two more relievers gave up the six runs.
Andrew Faulkner (3-0) pitched the seventh inning and took the loss for Norfolk.
The Clippers welcome the Buffalo Bisons to Huntington Park for the first of a three-game series Friday night at 7:15 p.m.
