“Time and Change”: OSU’s vision

COLUMBUS – The Ohio State University’s Board of Trustees endorsed a new strategic vision for the future of the university.

Calling their plan “Time and Change: Enable, Empower and Inspire,” university leaders vow to adopt innovative approaches to teaching and learning, offering an “excellent, affordable education,” promoting economic diversity, enhance OSU’s position among the top national and international public universities in research and creative expression and continue the growth of the OSU Wexner Medical Center as a leading academic health center.

“We stand at the doorway of transformational change for Ohio State and the national higher education landscape. Our strategic plan is a living framework that allows for flexibility moving forward. What is not flexible is our aspiration to be the best university we can be,” said university president Michael Drake.

Completion of the plan follows historic university highs in applications, graduation rates, academic excellence, diversity and donor support.

It was composed by connecting with more than 500 campus leaders and by considering nearly 1,000 online responses and suggestions from across the university community, university spokesman Chris Davey said.
