Timeline: Ohio/CDC response

Oct. 10: Dallas nurse who tested positive for Ebola, Amber Vinson, 29, arrived from Dallas at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport on Frontier Airlines Flight 1142.

Oct. 10-13: Vinson stayed at the Tallmadge home of her mother and stepfather in suburban Akron and returned to Texas on Monday aboard Frontier flight 1143.

Oct. 14: CDC confirms Vinson tested positive for the Ebola virus

Oct. 15: Ohio Dept. of Health notified by CDC that Vinson had visited Ohio. State epidemiologist Dr. Mary DiOrio and other staff dispatched to Summit County to assist with its efforts.

Gov. Kasich talks with US Secretary of Health and Human Services Sylvia Burwell, as well as CDC Director Dr. Tom Frieden. Kasich requests CDC staff to be deployed to Ohio to assist with patient contact work.

Frieden agresd to send key CDC staff to Ohio to state and local Ebola response efforts. CDC staff could arrive as soon as Wednesday night.

Ohio Department of Health activates 24-hour-a-day call center to answer questions about Ebola and recent events in Ohio. The number for Ohioans to call is 1-866-800-1404.

Oct. 16: Ohio Dept. of Health, in consultation with infectious disease experts across the state, issues enhanced Ebola quarantine protocols for individuals in proximity of index cases.

Gov. Kasich talks with President Barack Obama and thanks him for his help in getting CDC to Ohio. He also mentioned that Ohio has issued more aggressive quarantine measures and that the president supported our efforts.
