COLUMBUS – A pair of traffic accidents snarled traffic downtown and on the South Side Friday morning.
I-70 Eastbound was closed at S.R. 315 due to a motorcycle crash (above left) and the ramp from S.R. 104 (Frank Road) to I-71 Northbound was closed due to an overturned tractor-trailer (right).
Eastbound Frank Road traffic and Northbound S.R . 104 traffic cannot access I-71 North.
The following ramps were closed to manage traffic:
I-71 North to I-70 East
I-70 East to S.R. 315 North
2nd Street/W. Mound Street to I-70 East
S.R. 315 South to I-70 East
Eastbound I-70 traffic was being diverted to I-71 South. The detour is I-71 south to I-270 east back to I-70.
Traffic coming from west of Columbus was encouraged to use I-270 around the south side as a detour.
These restrictions could remain in place through mid-day.
