COLUMBUS, Ohio – Parents are getting a warning about toys that could be dangerous for their kids this Christmas.
The Ohio Public Interest Research Group’s annual “Trouble In Toyland” report lists dozens of toys that contain toxic chemicals, pose a choking threat or make loud noises.
The group points out some dangerous toys may not have made its list of 28 so parents should be cautious.
“It kind of just goes back to reading and heeding labels, and looking into the warnings and the age recommendations. Looking into the toys before you buy them – would this potentially be a choking hazard?” Ohio PIRG spokesman Bryan Stewart said.
The list includes several of the Littlest Toy Shop toys from Hasbro, Marvel’s Capt. America Soft Shield and LeapFrog’s Chat & Count Smart Phone.
