COLUMBUS – As a new poll shows Republican Donald Trump taking a lead among Ohio voters in his presidential race with Democratic race with less than a week to go before Election Day, both candidates are wooing voters in the key battleground state.
According to the latest Quinnipiac University Swing State poll, which surveys voters in Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, Trump leads Clinton in the Buckeye State by a margin of 46 percent to 41 percent among likely voters. The two were deadlocked, 45-45 percent, in October.
“Ohio has a large number of voters that the Trump campaign has targeted. The Buckeye state is full of those who feel they have lost their jobs because of unfair trade treaties, and non-college educated whites,” said Peter Brown, the poll’s assistant director.

The poll surveyed 589 Ohio likely voters between Oct. 27 and Nov. 1, when FBI director James Comey had informed Congress that new classified emails might have been found on the laptop of a top Clinton aid. The poll has a margin of error of +/-4 percentage points.
Trump has 48-38 percent lead among men and leads with independents, 48-30 percent, while the two are tied at 44 percent among women. Early voters back Clinton 58 – 32 percent.
Trump will appear at Airborne Maintenance and Engineering Services, Inc., in Wilmington Thursday and Clinton will share a stage with rapper Jay-X in Cleveland on Friday.
