COLUMBUS – President Donald Trump will be the featured guest at the Ohio Republican Party’s annual state dinner later this month in Columbus.

The Ohio Republican Party State Dinner6:00 p.m. Friday, August 24; Greater Columbus Convention Center, Battelle Grand Ballroom, 400 N. High Street.

Invitations sent out by state party chairman Jane Timken indicate that tickets to the fundraising event range in price from $250 to $10,000 per person.

Trump won Ohio during the 2016 presidential election and the state remains very important to Republican efforts to maintain control of Congress in this year’s midterm election.

Indicating of the importance of the state to the GOP, both Trump and Vice President Mike Pence visited central Ohio in the days before the August 7 special election between Republican state Sen. Troy Balderson and Democratic Franklin County Recorder Danny O’Connor to determine who would complete out the unfinished term of retired U.S. Rep Pat Tiberi in the 12th Congressional District.

The race has still not been decided, but the two will run against each other again in November to decide who will serve as representative for the full two-year term that begins in January.
