Two shot on East Side interstate

COLUMBUS – Two people were in the hospital after being shot while riding in a car on an East Side freeway Sunday afternoon.

Columbus police officers responded to Mount Carmel East Hospital, 6001 E. Broad Street, at approximately 2:42 p.m. on a report that some shooting victims had driven themselves to the hospital, Assault Unit investigators said.

Pollard Glenn and Kealani Smith were passengers in a vehicle driven by Latahsa Glenn as Glenn drove eastbound on I-670, in the area of Leonard Avenue, police said.

Glenn told police a silver vehicle pulled up next to her and someone in the back seat began shooting multiple times, hitting Glenn, 31, in the right leg and right wrist and Smith, 21, was struck in the left leg.

Both were listed in stable condition.
