UA, Bexley among best ‘burbs for families

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A pair of central Ohio suburbs are being ranked as among the best in the state to raise families in Ohio.

Upper Arlington is No. 3 on NerdWallet’s list of the 10 Best Towns in Ohio for Young Families, behind northeast Ohio’s Broadview Heights and the Cincinnati suburb of Loveland. Bexley was listed ninth.

The rankings are based on public school quality, median income and cost of home ownership.

The consumer advocacy website said praised Upper Arlington High School for students who excel on standardized tests and the most National Merit Finalists out of any school in Ohio.

The site singled out Bexley High School because it was recently named the fifth-best high school in the state by “U.S. News & World Report.” The Bexley school district also earned high marks for being among the two percent of Ohio school districts that offer foreign-language education in elementary school.
