UC-Irvine’s Drake to be new OSU president

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State University is poised to hire the school’s first black president.

Dr. Michael Drake, chancellor of UC-Irvine, reportedly to be Ohio State’s next president.

Published and broadcast sources report OSU’s trustees will introduce Dr. Michael Drake today as the university’s 15th full-time leader.

Drake has been chancellor of the University of California-Irvine since 2005.

He’ll start at OSU in June, replacing retired president Gordon Gee.
